What is the School Supply Depot?
The School Supply Depot is part of New Hope’s Marketplace — a seasonal, pop-up store where local families can shop for brand-new school supplies at deeply reduced prices.
Rather than handing out pre-packed backpacks, we invite parents into a warm, welcoming space where they can choose the items that best fit their children’s needs, grade level, and preferences.
This approach — what we call dignity pricing — affirms the role of parents as providers, reduces waste, and gives families agency in preparing for the school year.
It's not just about supplies. It’s about confidence, ownership, and creating a better first day of school for both kids and caregivers.
What is “Dignity Pricing”?
We believe that everyone deserves to feel like a provider.
At New Hope’s Marketplace, we intentionally do not give items away. Instead, we invite families to purchase what they need at dramatically reduced prices (often 80-90% off retail cost). This small but meaningful transaction:
Promotes dignity and choice
Reduces stigma often associated with charity
Ensures families only take what they truly want and need
Empowers parents to be the heroes for their children
All proceeds go back into the program to serve more families.
How you can help:
Last year, your generosity helped us serve 130 children through the School Supply Depot. This year, we’re aiming to serve 250 students — nearly doubling our reach.
Your support helps fill our shelves, expand our capacity, and empower more families to shop with dignity.
Give Financially
Sponsor a student and help stock our store:
$25 = PreK–1st Grade Supplies
$35 = 2nd–4th Grade Supplies
$40 = 5th–8th Grade Supplies
$45 = 9th–12th Grade Supplies
Every dollar helps us purchase high-need items and sustain the program.
